Bowflex’s Revolution comes with a unique SpiralFlex resistance system that’s unique to the brand. It comes with 2 resistance stacks that can be found on either side of the machine.
Both of the packs come with a strap that’s elastic and heavy-duty. It works to create a tight coil around the weight discs when you’re working out with it. The tension created is what enables you to have resistance to lift with.
There are 4 weight discs that weigh different amounts. These range from 5 lbs all the way to 40 lbs. Therefore, you’re provided with a good variety of weight options to choose from when working out.
Having more weight options that are available in larger and smaller increments is excellent for being able to work on your progressive overload. You’re able to add weight increments of as low as 5 lbs to ensure that you’re always improving.
Adjusting the weight is super easy as well. All you need to do is put the plate on the shaft with the correct roles and turn them until they’re locked securely in place. Most people are able to change the weights within a minute which doesn’t take away too much time from your workout.

In case of the rope coming loose, or something getting jammed, Bowflex has a quick guide on how to remove the lower spool. Just follow the below steps.
- Use a 7/32” allen wrench to remove the bolt securing the Lower Spool. See Figure 6a.
Set bolt aside for Step 9.
- 6-2 Remove the Spool (Figure 6a), unwrap the Strap (Figure 6b), and hook the Spool behind
the frame (Figure 6c) to keep it out of your way.
